About
Roland’s diverse experience across Australian business landscapes and communities makes him a sought-after advisor to boards and leaders looking to deeply understand their ecosystem, in order to make sound business decisions with large-scale impact.
He brings an understanding and appreciation of WA, NT & QLD communities, leading two-way engagement and consultation experience with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander groups and regional and farming networks. His extensive background in Employee and Industrial Relations equips him with a firm handle on the complex frameworks making up business in Australia.
Roland is experienced navigating high-cost and high-pressure situations where he has applied and championed a value-based negotiation approach in dealing with conflict and differences, and developing solutions.
Raised in the country and having lived regionally across states, Roland offers valuable insights into how inclusivity and connection make things work in regional communities. Walking in several worlds has allowed Roland to witness and deeply understand different perspectives, and this together with his warm nature serves his work in business strategy and leadership that embraces stakeholder voices.
Roland’s key strengths in navigating complexity, strategic and creative thinking, and relational intelligence allow him to create sustainable results across business landscapes.
After taking on the role of General Manager, Northern Territory for INPEX, Roland has now returned to Perth in the role of General Manager Operations for INPEX’s New Energy Business Australia.
Roland’s work as a Non-Executive Director offers boards support in conceptualising a way forward and leading strategy development. He contributes a deep understanding of risk management at the strategic and implementation levels, and is ESG-educated, bringing organisational practitioner experience and a contemporary understanding of community and stakeholder expectations. In addition, Roland understands how to build a network that is aligned to organisational requirements.
