From sophisticated technology driving farm productivity and efficiencies to navigating supply chain, food security and workforce issues, climate change regulations, global fertiliser supply shortages and political and logistical export challenges, Australia’s $80 billion Agriculture industry is experiencing accelerated change and innovation.
While the Field Days has an important and unbreakable bond with our namesake location, our Bringing Dowerin Downtown Lunch enables us to shine a further light on Australia’s vital agricultural industry and our regional communities to a broader audience.
It’s an opportunity to bring together business and political leaders to discuss the importance of agriculture to our economy and discuss the significant policies, key challenges, and trending opportunities for the sector, as well as promote the Wheatbelt as a place to work, live and invest.
The inaugural lunch was hosted on Tuesday 23 August 2022 providing an excellent segue to the Field Days in Dowerin.
Our presenters included:
- Paul Slaughter, Chief Executive, Harvest Road Group
- Hon. Alannah MacTiernan MLC, Minister for Regional Development, Agriculture and Food; Hydrogen Industry
- Tony Mahar, Chief Executive, National Farmers Federation
